Alicia Procello Maddox Public Health in the New Year
Alicia Procello Maddox is the President of the Avery Dennison Foundation and vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Avery Dennison Corporation. However, before her time at Avery Dennison she served on the board of the California Center for Public Health Advocacy, a group dedicated to bringing all aspects of healthcare to the underserved citizens of California.
Today public health in California and states around the union is a hot-button issue. US citizens across the country, no matter of age, race, or sex, have little-to- no access to quality medical care, and health information. Every day, sick children born and raised in the “land of freedom” can’t get access to necessary medical care due to employment and financial issues in their families. As a philanthropic executive, Alicia Procello Maddox believes that much of the responsibility falls on corporations themselves. These large-scale entities have the power and resources to start the relief efforts that are necessary. With socially minded executives in powerful positions such as Alicia Procello Maddox, hopefully we will begin to see such as change in 2018!
Formerly serving on the board for the California Center for Public Health Advocacy, Alicia Procello Maddox has had a firsthand look at what issues face small communities in the US and what types of outreach need to be done to combat these issues. For 2018, large-scale corporate entities, like Avery Dennison, and the Avery Dennison Foundation, have a number of community initiatives in place for the betterment of the community. With such grand plans, and starting with a grassroots movement, Alicia Procello Maddox in excited to be a part of a bright future, as one of the leaders at the helm of corporate responsibility in the new year.
